The new under-$100 boots from Redington is available in a standard felt sole ($89.95) or a rubber sole ($99.95) with crushed walnut shells in the compound for extra texture and traction. The rubber soles have a circle and cross tread design—the circles are receptacles for metal studs. Redington recommends tungsten carbide Grip Studs (gripstuds.com) but other brands fit as well. The boots have a rubber  rand and toe cap for added abrasion resistance and quick-drain mesh panels. The speed laces, padded collar and tongue, and webbing pull loops to make it easy and comfortable to get in and out. For more information see   www.redington.com.
