 Scadinavian-style Spey casting is marked by a quick pull with the bottom hand, a short overall casting stroke that culminates with a quick stop, and tightly focused loops with the kinetic energy to travel long distances. Our tester said this rod is not for everyone—you need excellent timing to send a short-head line into the next zip code—but if you are a serious student of Scandinavian-style Spey casting, or you plan on mostly overhead casting with your two-handed rod, Stinger may be the answer. The rods come in 7/8- to 10/11-weights 12'6" to 15' long.Every winter steelheader needs a big water canon, and the Loomis 15-foot 7/8 rises to the challenge.
