Although a relative newcomer to fly fishing, Cloudveil has been producing its 8X waders since 2006. In 2008, Cloudveil added Gore-Tex Pro Shell fabric and the 8X Pro was born. The revamped 8X uses 5-layer Pro Shell to the waist, and 3-layer in the upper wader. The seams are reinforced with patches at all seam junctions, and a gusseted crotch reduces inner-leg seam stress. They have pass-through and top-down pockets with waterproof zippers, and anatomically correct right/left neoprene booties. “The fabric and seam structure holds up well to abuse,” said our tester, “and as an average-size guy, the fit from foot through upper torso is exacting.”   www.cloudveil.com
